The Varisty Volleyball team made the trek to Parma Western tonight for a tri with the host Panthers and Tecumseh. The Bulldogs came out a bit flat in the first match against Parma and lost in 2 sets. Ionia worked hard to rally back and came within 2 of taking the second match against Tecumseh to 3 sets, but fell short in the end 26-28. Middle Hitters Emma White and Layla Delnay had a strong night at the net on defense with 4 blocks a piece. Molly Waterman and Kate Brown led on defense in the back row with 16 digs each. Offensively the Bulldogs were led by Logan Thomas with 8 kills while Grace Droste added 5. Droste also put up 16 assists. Brown and Alexias Daugherty had a strong night on the service line with 3 aces each. The Bulldogs fall to 4-3 on the season and will travel to Kent City next Wednesday for a tri.
