The Ionia Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Lansing Sexton tonight for their last conference and regular season game.The Bulldogs stepped onto the court in the first set ready to play. Strong service runs and a balanced offensive and defensive effort led the team to a 25-4 set win. Ionia was able to carry that momentum into the second set, and rallying off strong defensive play pushed to a 25-6 set win. The third set consisted of strong offensive plays and team work to close out the set and the match with a 25-9 finish! The win secures Ionia's first place finish in the CAAC White division! Coach Wenzel is SO proud of the team's hard work, determination, and team mentality all season!

The Bulldogs were connecting well on offense tonight, led by Danika Fyan and Tess Griffith with 6 kills each. Kassidy Casillas helped make those connections with 19 assists. Rajalyaj Esquivel led the offensive effort from behind the service line with 4 aces. Fyan, Casillas, and GraceMarie Martinez all added 2. Paige Castillo led the defensive efforts on the back line with 4 digs, followed by Casillas with 3. At the net, Fyan and Griffith each blocked 1. This moves the Bulldogs to 34-5-1 overall and 9-1 in the CAAC.
