Ionia Tennis had an individual qualifier for the state finals, first singles Sam Eppler(12).  Sam gave a valiant effort against the number 8th ranked player in the state in Division 3 from Holland Christian. Sam lost the first set 2-6, he was down 1-4 in the second set and came back to win 5 games in a row to go ahead 6-5, his opponent tied it at 6-6,and the set went to a 7 point tie break where Sam came up just short. Though Sam was unable to force the third set in the match, he had an amazing year winning back to back CAAC White championships with his teammates  Sam and Ionia Tennis have had an amazing ride.  To all 10 Seniors on the team this year, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for trying to get 1% better everyday.  Also thank you for MAKING THIS AMAZING COACHING JOURNEY ALL WORTH IT!  To the underclassman you obviously have big shoes to fill, but I have no doubt you have the talent and the drive to fill them. Thank you for 8 wonderful years as assistant coach, and 2 amazing years as years as head coach. Coach Eppler
